Skin Check
This is a routine and thorough check of your skin from head to toe (excluding intimate areas unless requested).
The skin and all the spots identified will be examined by the doctor with dermoscopic assistance and magnification onto a large screen.
Lesions may be dermoscopically photographed for future comparison and/or further treatment may be recommended.

Biopsy
If there is a suspicious looking spot, the doctor may recommend a biopsy.
A portion of the spot is removed and sent to the laboratory to be analysed. This may be in the form of a punch biopsy, in which a small core of tissue is removed; or a shave biopsy which removes the top layer of skin.
If performed at the same time as a skin or spot check this is usually bulk billed. Otherwise the fee is as below. (Will vary for more than one spot)

Total Body Photography
Some people are at much higher risk of developing skin cancers, eg strong family history of melanoma, dysplastic naevus syndrome, immunosuppression. For these patients, the doctor may recommend Total Body Photography aka Mole Mapping.
The entire skin is photographed and then the images are saved on file for further comparison in future. Artificial Intelligence powered software will assist to identify spots that might have changed.
This appointment includes a skin check.

Skin Cancer Surgery
The most effective treatment for skin cancer is generally surgical removal. We are highly experienced in removal of skin cancers from all areas of the body including the face.

Spot Check
This is a short appointment to perform a dermoscopic check of 1-2 spots on the skin.
This is a shorter appointment than a full Skin Check and should only be booked if you have already had your skin fully assessed recently with a full Skin Check.

Cysts, Lipomas and Scars
We are experienced in the diagnosis and surgical management of sebaceous cysts and lipomas (including large lipomas).
We are happy to assist with the management of troublesome keloid or hypertrophic scars.
We can also remove benign moles for cosmetic reasons.
